This has been a really hard year for me mentally and physically. I have been working remote all year which in all is a blessing but it’s also hard on my mentally because I am very social. That’s also been hard on me because my working conditions are not great. I live out of my room now.

I have also gotten really sick this year with having COVID and Strep which has caused my physical condition to go way down.

My year has been interesting. Very grateful for a job, my health, and my partner and dog by my side.
Trying to get back in shape has been a struggle, can’t find my groove to make it happen. Working too many hours in a chair has caused a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck. Nagging ankle issues just will not go away for me to really dive into training like I would like to, but it might be mental too.

It's been challenging not seeing family and friends. I cancelled several trips and tournaments.

Despite the crazy times and my pain/depression/etc. it was a good year full of blessings! I had PRP injections in 5 places in Oct 29, 2019. Like everyone, I had to drop out of PT in Feb 2020. I watched lots of the classes Centeno Schultz offered and appreciated all the PT's they featured. I was looking for something more targeted, more aggressive to help me be strong enough to care for my wheelchair-bound Dad for as long as I can. I am so thankful I came to NeuroAthlete! 🙂 Everyone has been kind and helpful. Pat Marques has worked hard to help me and I am so much stronger than before. 🙂 He finds ways to solve all the new issues that have come up. Dr Higgins has 'straightened me out' 🙂 and I am hopeful more things will be solved. 🙂 When I am not functioning my famiy has to step in and do more of the care of my Dad...they are very sacrificial already so I feel bad to add to their load. At one visit when I was panicking Pat said "You are not going to fall apart and we are going to show you how to recover." I know that was about my physical self but when I started to struggle emotionally I repeated that over and over to myself. And ate therapeutic amounts of dark chocolate. 🙂 I am stronger, the fog has cleared and I am so thankful. I recommend you all the time! And I always appreciate prayer. 🙂 Thank you. 🙂

This year has started out turbulent. My full time job responsibilities are changing and in the middle of the transition I have taken over as temporary supervisor. Despite the mental stress my physical performance has been great minus some bothersome issues. The ligament pain which I assume will never go away has its ups and downs. My lumbar area continues to lock up on the right side contributing a lot pain and mobility loss. Dr. Higgins released it on 2/6 and I have felt ten times better. I still feel an occasional burning sensation up higher than my ligament pain that I hope is not a disc issue. I will be back to continue discussing with you guys!

So this last year was the most stressful and filled with the most blessings at the same time. During the COVID pandemic my father received a double lung transplant in Sept of 2020. The recovery is over a year long and critical to not get him sick. He is doing absolutely AMAZING!!! It's just so unbelievable. Shortly after that got in engaged and my future husband discovered he had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. So he also had surgery and his now recovering. So this year we are counting our blessing for heath and plan to have the wedding about a year from my dads surgery anniversary so he can also celebrate with less risk to his health.

It’s been an interesting but good year for me. I have chosen not to live in fear of COVID. I’ve been with family and friends. I’m so grateful for my work, family and friends!

Well, I am doing fine and feel fortunate to many! Worked quite a bit with Megan before the pandemic hit and she really helped me get to a good spot. Working out quite a bit and, so far, have not set myself back! Your number is still on speed dial though.

Hard . Struggling with balancing a new routine for my family . A new season of life as a woman has come into play also . Trying to find a balance that is God centered but yet fuels my body (temple ) in order to fulfill His will .

Hi there! Thus is great!, thank you so much for your generosity. I continue to heal, but feel like I’ve stalled and don’t want to go back to the awful pain I had before. I believe I could benefit from a re evaluation. I just need to come see you and/or Pat. I’m also working on getting my husband to make an appointment with you!

The past year has been a total paradox. One one hand, Covid’s impact put my husband’s pursuit of his dream job on a major standstill and our finances became exceedingly tight. On the other hand we grew deeply as individuals, as a couple, as parent & step parent and as spiritual beings. It was strangely the best and toughest year all in one. We’re still in it, but practicing gratitude for the ways Life has loved and supported us is keeping us hopeful and thankful for what really matters.

I work with Trent Claypool with talk therapy and EMDR. He’s been helping me work through some trauma I’ve had from accidentally skiing off a cliff last March and severely injuring my left knee, as well as a neck injury I suffered in the pool during rehab in the summer. I am an elite triathlete, mountain biker, and skier and this last year has not been easy on my body or psyche! But I am stubbornly determined to get back to my 100% ability and fitness, no matter how long that takes. I am also a Pediatric Oncology Nurse for Children’s Hospital here in Colorado Springs and it’s been a long road returning to 13 hour shifts from my injuries
